Children/Kids
Children/Kids
We welcome children and kids to enjoy paddleboarding with Aloha SUP.
We have a few guidelines.
Any children or teenagers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult in the activity. Preferably the adult is a family member but it can be the parent or older sibling of a another member of your paddleboarding group. If it is an older sibling, that person needs to be over the age of 21.
What is the minimum age?
This is a question we get asked alot.
Typically the minimum age to do the paddleboarding session successfully would be about 8-9 years old at the low end.
This depends upon the strength and athleticism of the child. Paddleboarding does require a level of balance, fitness, & strength. Most kids at the lower end of the spectrum have no issue with the balance or the fitness. Sometimes if it is windy, strength and stamina can be a limiting factor. One of the key factors we have found to success for kids is their enthusiasm for the activity. If they are enthused about the activity (whatever it is for that matter) they will typically have success.
Younger/Smaller Children
Younger smaller, children in the age range of 4-7 who weight below 50 lbs many times can ride on the front of the board with their parent as long as the combined weight is not greater than 200 lbs. If you want to bring your small child please contact us in advance so we can ensure we have some of our larger boards available for your session.
If you have any questions about this feel free to call at (614) 655-3504.
